On October 7, 2015, Trammo’s second newbuilding, the M/V Trammo Baumann, was placed in the water during a launching ceremony held at the shipyard in Jiangsu, China. The vessel, with a deadweight of 38,500 metric tons, was designed on the basis of the Green Dolphin Handysize bulk carrier concept and is the result of the first development phase of a joint project between Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute (SDARI) and Det Norske Veritas (DNV). The project’s objective was to design a vessel with a focus on fuel efficiency, minimizing environmental impact and maintaining operational flexibility. M/V Trammo Baumann follows Trammo’s first joint-venture vessel, the M/V Trammo Stanton, which was launched in August of this year. Both vessels are operated by Trammo Bulk Carriers and will primarily service the Atlantic region. A third joint-venture vessel, the M/V Trammo Independent, is scheduled for delivery in January 2016 and will also be operated by Trammo Bulk Carriers.
