David Charkviani (L) (Counselor, Economic Affairs, Embassy of Georgia to the United States), William Markstein (SVP & CFO, Trammo, Inc.), Tamar Taliashvili (Ambassador of Georgia to the United States), Edward Weiner (President & CEO, Trammo, Inc.), and Mamuka Murjikneli (R) (General Director & CEO, Wondernet Express Investment Group).

On October 30, 2025, Her Excellency Tamar Taliashvili, Ambassador of Georgia to the United States, hosted a luncheon at the Embassy of Georgia in Washington, D.C. with Mr. Edward Weiner, President & CEO of Trammo, Inc., Mr. William Markstein, SVP & CFO of Trammo, Inc., and Mr. Mamuka Murjikneli, General Director & CEO of Wondernet Express Investment Group.

During the meeting, the participants discussed Trammo’s investment in its multimodal terminal at the Port of Batumi.  In partnership with Wondernet Express LLP, an international logistics company with extensive experience in rail logistics and freight-forwarding services, Trammo is helping to develop a strategic logistics corridor for the movement of bulk commodities—including fertilizers and sulfur—by vessel, barge, and railcar from Central Asia across the Caspian Sea, through the ports of Baku, Azerbaijan, and Batumi, Georgia, to Western markets via the Black Sea.

Trammo and Wondernet Express launched the construction of the multimodal terminal at the Port of Batumi in January 2019 and commenced operations in June 2021. The terminal is equipped with modern equipment for handling fertilizers and sulfur, including a conveyor system and ship loaders with dust control and filtration technology, and handles up to approximately 1.5 million metric tons per annum of bulk commodities, including fertilizers and sulfur.

Ambassador Taliashvili reaffirmed the Georgian government’s continued support for advancing the development of the Middle Corridor, a modern embodiment of the historic Silk Road that bridges Europe and Asia through efficient and reliable connectivity. This corridor plays a vital role in strengthening supply chains and fostering economic resilience.
